Since I have three of his offspring, I "talk" to Frohwind's owner, Vanessa, on a regular basis, and I am sure she would have let me know if he was no longer with us! He is still breeding, using fresh semen even. Though I do hope they are stocking the freezer since he is, I think, 23 now.;)

Then please let's not let him near a computer, and certainly no one should say such a thing within earshot. I suspect most of the Grand Old Men feel that way and that's part of why they're so grand.

Um, Corlando is a 1985 model (though I wish he was a 1991!), so he's 22 this year - and in my mind the ultimate Grand Old Man (and I call him that all the time - he KNOWS he's a Grand Man - and uses his selective hearing on the "Old" part!)

Also should mention one of our current stallions, Baladin d'Oc (1989)

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd be curious to see a list of stallions born and bred in this country that are now licensed by recognized warmblood registries. I think that would be interesting from the perspective of how our breeding in this country has progressed... How many of those Grand Old Men are domestically born and bred?

It is interesting to see just how many stallions are here and available now. I remember how few there were actually available not so terribly long ago...

Gold Premium Canadian Sport Horse, and ISR/Oldenburg NA.

There is Capitaan (Aka Cavaleer) BWP approved now and this year also going RPSI he is WELL into his 20's 1983 model :)

He is the last living son of Captiano from a Cordelabryere x Heilbutt dam bred for showjumping actually the Thamling family in Holstein Germany. He was imported a million light years ago. He is now managed by Wendy Artzt I believe he counts in the Grand Old Man category though :)

from an earlier post: "I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd be curious to see a list of stallions born and bred in this country that are now licensed by recognized warmblood registries."

I bred Again and Again (1978) --Pennsylvania
Katharine Dauphin bred Waldaire--Virginia

1980 Liostro [E] (Ladykiller xx/Farnese/Aldato) approved German Holsteiner Verband and AHHA. Could very well be approved by other registries, but I am not certain.

-produced 2 stallions approved by the German Holsteiner Verband: Levantos I/II. and at least 2 AHHA approved stallions; Liocalyon and Liosto

1981 Capital Hill (Caletto I/Capitano/Marlon) approved AHHA

The first four are no longer with us. The last two I'm not sure, but don't hink so. They all have frozen available I believe, which is why they are stilla active.

Thanks, I'm not going to add them unless someone can verify that they are still alive.

What a list! 183 warmblood stallions, 2 TB stallions and 1 Arabian stallion approved for warmblood breeding! Who knew there were so many?

Both still alive last I had heard (I worked for the owners). I think they are both still breeding by Fresh Cooled. I know Beach Boy was imported at age 19 or so and doesn't ship Frozen.
