Curtis Captures Individual Pony Jumper Gold

Aug. 13—Lexington, Ky.

The USEF Pony Finals are nothing new to Julia Curtis—but the pony jumpers at Pony Finals are. The past two years, Curtis competed ponies in the hunter rings. But after acknowledging her need for speed, she partnered with The Waterboy a year ago for some jumper fun. Her third time at the national championship at the Kentucky Horse Park proved to be a gold charm as she jumped Saturday evening’s sole clean round to win the individual gold at the pony jumper championship.

For The Laughter Finishes On Top At Pony Finals

Lexington, Ky—Aug. 13

It’s pretty tough to follow up two consecutive titles at USEF Pony Finals. Pretty much all you can do is win again.  So that’s what Maddy Darst did with For The Laughter.

That Betsee Parker entry claimed the large pony championship the last two years. This time around she came into the over fences with a 22-point lead, but a bobble at the first fence meant she nearly lost the chance at a title.

Zone 7 Glitters In Gold At Pony Jumper Team Championship

Aug. 12—Lexington, Ky.

In a nail-biting second round on Friday night during the pony jumper team championship at the USEF Pony Finals, the girls of Zone 7 gave it all they had to pull out the win over Zone 2. The team was awarded the Willow Grove Farm Perpetual Trophy, donated by U.S. Hunter Jumper Association President Bill Moroney.

Ballou Bounces Back At Pony Finals

Aug. 12—Lexington, Ky.

Daisy Farish had an enviable decision to make heading into this year’s edition of USEF Pony Finals. Farish had two small ponies at the competition, Shine and Ballou, but the rules only permitted her to ride one. In the end, she chose Ballou, because she’s had so much experience with him, and that decision paid off with the division championship.

Enchanted Forest Charms At USEF Pony Finals

Lexington, Ky.—Aug. 11

Maddy Darst found the perfect way to follow up yesterday’s large green pony hunter championship at USEF Pony Finals: winning another tricolor.

She piloted Enchanted Forest to the top of the medium pony hunter division today for Betsee Parker after earning winning over fences scores of 86.9, 87 and 87. Swingtown jumped to second over fences to score the reserve title with Bergen Sanderford.
