With all the yelling, whistling and urging coming from an orange-clad contingent in the Alltech Arena stands, one might have thought the USEF Pony Finals jumper team championship was a tight race. But no, Zone 4’s fan club was simply cheering on its four first-timers to eight clear rounds.

Awards ceremonies at USEF Pony Finals are a drawn out affair. There are 20 ribbons for both the over-fences and overall awards, not to mention daily sportsmanship awards, owner-rider awards, rosettes for top Welsh and part-Welsh awards—you get the picture.

Maddie Darst found the perfect way to wrap up her USEF Pony Finals career: winning the large pony hunter title on Betsee Parker’s For The Laughter.

This marks the fourth year in a row that For The Laughter earned the championship, and the second time that Darst has had the ride.

Laughlin Earns USEF Pony Finals Individual Jumper Title

Keely Laughlin might have been anxious before the first round of tonight’s USEF Pony Finals individual jumper championship, but Laughlin was all business when she went back for the jump-off. Guaranteed at least silver, she’d already accomplished her main goal.
