Dressage Squad Named For European CDI Tour

The U.S. Equestrian Federation has named eight combinations to the observation squad for the Pan American Games. The squad is composed of four big tour and four small tour combinations, which will compete in designated European CDI observation events.

Who Am I?

The Chronicle's newest blogger is Sydney Collier, a member of the U.S. Para-Dressage Team at the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in France, and the recipient of the 2014 Junior Equestrian of the Year Award from the U.S. Equestrian Federation. I realize, being who I am, that I have a tendency to be overly competitive and overly analytical. When I see a problem, I want to fix it immediately. Since my return from the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, these qualities certainly haven’t changed.

McCrea Stays Perfect For Individual Gold

Oct. 29—Guadalajara, Mexico

Christine McCrea finished out the week the same way she started it: perfectly. She didn’t log a single fault over five rounds of show jumping at the Pan American Games to score the individual gold medal aboard Romantovich Take One.

McCrea edged out teammate Beezie Madden and Coral Reef Via Volo, with Brazil’s Bernardo Alves taking bronze on Bridgit.

U.S. Show Jumpers Earn A Golden Ticket To London

Oct. 27—Guadalajara, Mexico

The U.S. show jumping team came to the Pan American Games for one reason and one reason only—to earn an invitation to the London Olympic Games. But they managed that and more, without any U.S. riders putting a single fault on the scoreboard today en route to a team gold medal and a spot on the Olympic start list. Brazil picked up team silver, and Mexico delighted their hometown crowds by earning bronze.
