Leibler Rides To Young Rider Gold

July 28, Lexington, Ky.

The second day of official competition at the Adequan/FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships continued with dressage, eventing and show jumping. Individual young rider and junior medals were awarded while the CCI** eventing competitors did their dressage. The first elimination round for show jumping was also held.

Region 5 Young Riders Team Up For Dressage Gold At NAJYRC

The team dressage competitions got underway on the first day, July 27, of the Adequan/FEI North American Junior And Young Rider Championships, held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. The Region 5 team took home gold in the young rider team dressage competition on a score of 198.10 percent, while the Region 1 team was victorious for the junior class.

USEA Announces NAJYRC Teams

The U.S. Eventing Association has announced the teams for the 2011 Adequan FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships. Riders from North America between the ages of 14 and 21 will compete at the NAJYRC, held at the Kentucky Horse Park, July 27-31, and the Chronicle will be there to bring you photos, stories and more online and in print.

Junior Reining Championship Comes To NAJYRC

The U.S. Equestrian Federation has announced the addition of a reining junior championship to the 2011 Adequan FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships, which will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington from July 27-31.

Junior championships in dressage, eventing and show jumping were recognized in 2006. Reining was added as an official NAJYRC championship event in 2008.

NAJYRC Adds Endurance Championship

The U.S. Equestrian Federation has announced plans to add an inaugural endurance championship event to the 2011 Adequan FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships, which will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington from July 27-31. Competitors will ride over portions of the same track used during the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games for the World Endurance Championships.

  • “I had two down in the speed, and I was a little slow,” Wolff said. “I wasn’t expecting much of a comeback.” But comeback she did, dropping only one rail in the next four rounds to finish with a combined score of 9.93.

Copycat Chloe And Pugh Win CH-Y** Gold; Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds And Loria Claim CH-J* Title

  • Kelly Pugh and Copycat Chloe were unbeatable, winning the individual young rider eventing championships at the North American Junior and Young Rider Championships. The duo finished with a score of 55.9 faults. “The whole weekend was amazing,” Pugh, 20, said. “Dressage was unbelievable. In cross-country I couldn’t have asked for more. It was the first time it all came together.”
  • Missy Miller and TSF Amazing Grace came from behind to win the silver medal. The duo, from Gulf Shores, Ala., have been together since 2007.
