Garza Perez Is Golden At Adequan/FEI NAJYRC

Lexington, Ky. - July 20

For the first time since 1996, Mexico brought home an individual gold medal in the show jumping competition at the Adequan/FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships. A member of Mexico’s silver medal-winning team earlier in the week, Eugenio Garza Perez captured individual gold in the junior championship riding his 12-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding Bariano, adding no penalties over the five-round competition.

Uhlir Captures Individual Young Rider Gold at Adequan/FEI NAJYRC

Lexington, Ky. - July 19

She may have been the last rider of the day at 6:20 p.m, but Ayden Uhlir didn’t let it get to her. Aboard Sjapoer, her 2012 individual junior gold medal mount, Uhlir topped the young rider individual test at the Adequan/FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships.

“It was quite a journey coming from juniors. It’s a lot harder to do these tests, but a lot more fun. I definitely enjoy it and it was well worth it,” said Uhlir, 18, Kirkland, Wash.

Zone 2 Overcomes An Early Scare To Take Gold At Adequan/FEI NAJYRC

Despite a difficult start to the week, the Zone 2 team pulled things together and delivered a strong performance to take home the gold medal in the young rider team show jumping final at the Adequan/FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championshipship.

They say that everything is bigger in Texas. This year at the Adequan/FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships, the eventers from Area V—a region including Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma—took that truism to heart, bringing a massive contingent from the Lone Star State.
