Invincible Scores A Big Win At Capital Challenge

Oct. 6—Upper Marlboro, Md.

Ellen Toon couldn’t have had a much better trip to Capital Challenge. She rode Invincible to a mark of 90 over fences, which earned today's EMO Trip of the Show award and helped boost them to the amateur-owner, 36 and over, reserve championship. And this afternoon she followed up with another big win: riding Invincible to the top of the WCHR Amateur-Owner Challenge.

French Finishes A Big Partnership With A Bang

Oct. 5—Upper Marlboro, Md.

John French found the perfect way to bid farewell to his top hunter: riding him to the top of their second consecutive WCHR Professional Rider Challenge at Capital Challenge.

French tacked up his partner of three years, Small Affair, to jump to the top of both rounds of tonight’s class, with Scott Stewart claiming second on Declaration and Patricia Griffith riding to third aboard Parkland.

Capital Challenge Tidbits

•    Tracy Scheriff, Wellington, Fla., rode her own Absolut to victory in the WCHR Amateur-Owner Challenge on an average score of 85.66. Scheriff placed second in the class last year.

Tosh Goes Straight To The Top At Capital Challenge

The WCHR rookie from Georgia bests the veterans to take the title.

Hunt Tosh was hardly the odds-on favorite heading into the World Champion Hunter Rider Professional Finals. Tosh had never even qualified for the class before, and three past winners, who had multiple victories, traveled to Upper Marlboro, Md., to vie for the title.
