World Dressage Masters Palm Beach Announces New Sponsor, 2kGrey

The World Dressage Masters Palm Beach presented by International Polo Club Palm Beach is excited to announce a sponsorship agreement with the equestrian apparel company 2kGrey. Founded by Grand Prix dressage rider Karen Lipp and Kris Zagoria, 2kGrey will launch its brand new line of breeches at the WDM Palm Beach. The World Dressage Masters presented by Axel Johnson Group is the world's premier dressage series. The WDM Palm Beach is North America's only annual FEI five star dressage competition, and with €100,000 (US$130,000) in prize money, it is also its richest.

65th Annual Buffalo International Horse Show To Host Indoor Competition September 14-18, 2011

Buffalo, NY - July 12, 2011 - The Buffalo International Horse Show will host its 65th annual hunter/Jumper competition this fall at the Buffalo Therapeutic Riding Center. The show will be held on September 14-18, 2011, in downtown Buffalo, NY, at the home of the Buffalo Equestrian Center and SBS Farms Inc.

Multiple Championships For Callan Solem Show Stables At Vermont Summer Festival

Callan Solem Show Stables traveled to the Vermont Summer Festival after an exciting week at HITS Saugerties, where Solem captured five blue ribbons and the Champion Tricolor aboard April Showers, owned by Tracey Blumberg, in the First Year Green Hunter division and a fifth place ribbon aboard VDL Torlando, owned by the VDL Torlando Group, in the $50,000 Grand Prix.

Kelsey Thatcher and Red Sky Win $2,500 Junior Hunter Classic At Showplace Spring Spectacular II

During yesterday's junior hunter competition a brief rain and wind storm rolled through the Lamplight Equestrian Center cancelling the final classes of the day in the Main Hunter ring. The competition continued bright and early on Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m., beginning with the final rounds from yesterday.  After a short course change for Saturday's over fences and handy hunter rounds, riding was underway at the Showplace Spring Spectacular II.

Working Group To Submit Report on Warm-Up Guideline to FEI Bureau

The FEI Working Group tasked with expanding current guidelines for Stewards to facilitate clear implementation of the policy on warm-up techniques has finalised its report on guidelines to prevent any form of aggressive riding at FEI events. The completed document will be submitted to the FEI Bureau at its meeting on 15 April. A further update on the proposed warm-up guidelines will then be issued.

National Welfare Code of Practice Endorsed

A national Welfare Code of Practice has been endorsed by the American Association of Equine Practitioners, the American Quarter Horse Association, the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association, the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, the U.S. Equestrian Federation and the U.S. Trotting Association. The Welfare Code of Practice, drafted by the American Horse Council, outlines in generic terms what it means for an organization to be committed to the responsible breeding, training, care, use, enjoyment, transport and retirement of horses.
