2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games Endurance

The sport of endurance has been fraught with controversy recently, but in the Chronicle's World Games Preview Issue, Emmett Ross and Becky Hart highlight the improvements made. On a day that saw only 35 finishers out of 166 starters, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed al Maktoum on Yamamah swept the 100-mile endurance race at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games with a time (8:08:28) more than 10 minutes faster than his closest competitor.
Costa Rican combination Claudia Romero Chacon and Dorado suffered a fall during the first loop of the endurance competition of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games shortly after 8:30 a.m. local time.
