The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association Wheeler Museum is excited to announce its spring 2013 exhibit: “Elegance, Power, and Heart–The Thoroughbred Show Horse,” which is scheduled to open in late February. The exhibit will honor the significant and unique contributions the Thoroughbred has made to the hunter and jumper disciplines historically, as well as celebrate the resurgence of the breed’s popularity in recent years.
From the significance of the Bonne Nuit sire line, the rule-changing performance of Miss Budweiser, and the Olympic medal-winning performances of Touch Of Class and Gem Twist, to the breathtaking performances of Hall of Fame Hunters the likes of Stocking Stuffer, Sign the Card, Best Bet and Sutton Place, this exhibit will showcase the elegance, power, and heart that are trademarks of the Thoroughbred show horse.
The Wheeler Museum invites your participation in this exhibit. We encourage you to share your great Thoroughbred show horse with our visitors and guests by submitting information on an application and sharing any photographs and other artifacts (portraits, blankets, coolers, trophies, ribbons, etc.) that help tell the story. A completed loan agreement must accompany all submissions, and all loaned items will be returned at the conclusion of the exhibit. Deadline for submission is Friday, Feb. 15, 2013.
