Akhal Teke

Looking at pictures of the Akhal Teke and Turkmene horses makes me think that they must have been used in England to develop the Thoroughbred in the past centuries. It would be fascinating if genetic studies could be done. The book Horses of The World, by Daphne Machin Goodall, published in 1965, has 300 photographes of horses from all over the world and the similarity of the Thoroughbred and the Akhal Teke is hard to miss.
