Pre-show routine: “I’ve become a lot less superstitious. Every time I rely on luck it ends up making me too nervous. I try to keep myself focused.”

Most embarrassing moment: “When I was 10 or 11, I was at a small show where I was doing short stirrup, and I fell off two times a day for three days straight. It was so embarrassing. There was nothing positive about that weekend. I used to be so little—my children’s hunter would just shake her neck, and I’d come off.”           

Hardest Lesson: “Every lesson is hard! With Karen, nothing’s easy.”
