The second annual Retreat Round-Up: Horses of Many Colors for a Cause will be held in Westminster at the Agriculture Center on Sunday, Feb 17, 2013 from 2:00-5:00pm
Enjoy a great afternoon featuring silent auction, decorated model horse show, food, flea market of tack and equipment and entertainment Decorated model horse entries will be judged and awarded prizes and sold in the silent auction, along with many other wonderful items.
Anyone can enter! All entries are due to the Carroll County Cooperative Extension Office by Friday Feb 8, 2013 in order to be considered for prizes. The winning entries will be on display at the Carroll County Arts Council from Monday Feb 11- Saturday February 16 prior to the actual Round Up event on Feb 17.
Hosted by the Horse of Course 4-H club, proceeds will benefit therapeutic riding at The Retreat at Beckleysville, a fund of the Community Foundation of Carroll County. Mary Shunk at The Retreat provides a program of therapeutic riding to children and adults with different abilities, as well as a home for retired therapeutic horses. She has touched the lives of people from Maryland to Namibia, from 3 to 90 years old, and was instrumental in bringing equestrian sports to MD Special Olympics as well as founding the Maryland Council of Equestrian Therapies and organizing its annual Maryland Challenged Equestrian Trials competition for many years. All proceeds from the silent auction and flea market directly benefit therapeutic riding at The Retreat.

The Retreat Round-Up is open to the public with no admission fee. Clubs, Businesses, Groups and Individuals can enter a model horse to compete!
