Melanie Smith Taylor, Donna Brothers and Randy Moss are going to commentate for this thrilling event, which took place on Dec. 15 in Switzerland. Watch to see which rider begins his or her trek down the road to the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping.
Started in April 2013, the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping links three of the world’s top equestrian events: the CHIO Aachen (Germany) in June, the CSIO Spruce Meadows Masters (Alberta) in September and the CHI Geneva (Switzerland) in December. The three Rolex grand prix classes alone are endowed with prize money totaling 2.5 million Euros (Aachen and Spruce Meadows 1 Million Euros each, Geneva 500,000 Euros).
Any rider who wins three of those classes in a row receives 1 million Euros on top of the prize money of each show. Moreover, anyone who wins two out of the three shows also receives a bonus. If two shows are won in succession, the bonus is 500,000 Euros. If the rider is successful in qualifying for the “two out of three mode”, but doesn’t claim the victories at two consecutive shows, the bonus totals 250,000 Euros. It is possible to claim the bonus riding different horses.
