Next year $100,000 in prize money will be offered during the U.S. Hunter Jumper Association World Champion Hunter Rider Peter Wetherill Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular on Feb. 15 in Wellington, Fla. This will be the largest purse ever offered in the WCHR program history.

“Over $150,000 was offered in prize money in both the Pre-Green Incentive and International Hunter Derby Championships this past August. Now, with the support of generous donors like Meralex Farm, we are able to offer $100,000 in the WCHR Spectacular. This is an exciting time for the hunters, and supporters of these efforts represent a significant part of the history of our sport,” stated USHJA President Bill Moroney.

Riders earning championships or reserve championships in the 3’6″ and higher rated hunter sections during week six of the 2014 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (Fla.) qualify for the $100,000 Spectacular. Additional riders qualify based on points if riders qualifying during week six choose not to compete or are pre-qualified. In addition, riders can qualify based on their standings in the 2013 WCHR national awards programs.
