SRVS Industries, the on-site employment program of SRVS Inc., West Tennessee’s largest provider of services for people with disabilities, has been named the primary distribution location for Pre-Vent® Feeders for the eastern United States.
Pre-Vent Feeders manufactures and sells an innovative new line of horse feeders designed to enhance horses’ health and reduce feed waste. SRVS Industries is an outsourcing business that employs people with disabilities and provides quality services for many companies in the greater Memphis area.
SRVS Industries will be responsible for product labeling for Pre-Vent Feeders and shipping to retailers and customers across the country.
“This is a tremendous business opportunity for SRVS and our employees,” said Troy Allen, Director of SRVS Industries. “Our partnership with Pre-Vent will provide the most cost effective and efficient means to package and distribute Pre-Vent feeders, and expand our supply chain management to new markets.”
Pre-Vent Feeders is currently expanding its network of retail partners that carry the feeder for sale in tack shops, feed and equipment stores around the country.
“Pre-Vent Feeders was looking for a distribution partner located in our primary marketing area, as well as one that could provide the top service and response times our customers expect,” said Kaelin Hanks, VP of Sales and Marketing for Pre-Vent Feeders. “As we grow, we need a partner that can reliably serve an expanding base of retailers.”

The Pre-Vent® Feeder is the first and only horse feeder designed to benefit a horse’s health, minimize feed waste and address poor feeding behaviors by imitating natural grazing behaviors. The feeder’s patent pending wide base and angled compartments are designed so a horse uses his tongue and lips to retrieve small amounts of feed, requiring him to concentrate and keep his head down while feeding. A Texas A&M study confirmed the effectiveness of the feeder in slowing feeding time and reducing feed waste.
Harold Schick is one of several employees at SRVS Industries hired to fulfill the Pre-Vent orders. Schick will clean, label and package the feeders for distribution by SRVS Industries. “SRVS Industries is more than just a place where I earn my living,” says Schick. “It’s a place where I can learn valuable job skills and make new friends.”
SRVS Industries began in 1962 as the founding program of SRVS. It has grown into a fulfillment center that daily employs more than 120 people with disabilities, and provides a wide range of services including boxing, labeling, packaging, shrink-wrapping, promotional displays, hand assembly, paper shredding and recycling. SRVS Industries is one of seven programs operated by SRVS that include community employment services, a learning center, a community living program, clinical services, family support, in addition to elderly and adult disabilities services.
