New SMU Mustang Charlotte Jacobs Travels To Europe For Competition

North Star Ventures is pleased to announce that young rider Charlotte Jacobs was recently signed to the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Equestrian Team, and will be attending the prestigious school in the Fall of 2013. Next week, Jacobs will round out her stellar year in Europe, competing at the Gucci Masters in Paris, France, and the Pappas Amadeus Horse Show in Salzburg, Austria.

"I am really excited to be attending SMU next year," commented Jacobs. "I have been considering the school for the last year and I think they have one of the best teams in the country. I also think SMU is very strong academically, so it's the best of both worlds."

SMU equestrian coach Haley Schoolfield added, "Charlotte has had an outstanding junior career and is one of the top equitation and jumper riders in the country. She will be an immediate asset to our hunter seat team, and we are very excited to welcome her into the Mustang family."

On Monday, Jacobs will leave for Paris, France to begin preparing for the Gucci Masters, held November 29 - December 2. She will be competing the 2* events with her mounts Promised Land and Kachina, who have each helped her score important victories throughout the year. From December 6-9th, Jacobs will be in Salzburg, Austria for the Pappas Amadeus Horse Show.

"One of the best parts about competing in Europe is that you get to compete and then you get to sit down and watch riders like Marcus Ehning," expressed Jacobs. "You get to watch the best in the world. The shows in Europe are also unbelievably intense and it's so competitive. It's so much harder over there, so it certainly ups your game a little bit."

After retuning from Europe, Jacobs will travel to Wellington, Florida for the prestigious Winter Equestrian Festival, where she will compete throughout the 12-week circuit.
