Martin And Ashker Head Overseas To Pau CCI****

Eventers Boyd Martin, 31, and Laine Ashker, 26, have received grants from the U.S. Equestrian Federation to travel to France and ride in the Pau CCI****, which takes place Nov. 4-7.

Martin, of West Grove, Pa., was the highest placed U.S. competitor at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games last month when he finished 10^th with Neville Bardos. He’ll ride Remington XXV for Henley House Stables. Remington, a 14-year-old Hanoverian gelding, was 12^th in his first CCI**** at the 2010 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event, and he was also short-listed for the WEG.

Ashker, Richmond, Va., will join Martin with her own Anthony Patch. This pair finished 14^th at Rolex Kentucky, which was the 11-year-old ex-race horse's first four-star. They recently won an advanced division at the Morven Park Horse Trials (Va.) in the beginning of October.
