Lionshare’s Elizabeth Pandich Pilots Candide To The 1.25M Championship At Fairfield County Hunt Club Horse Show

Elizabeth Pandich and Candide, owned by Haphco, LLC, triumphed in the 1.25m Jumper Division this week at the Fairfield County Hunt Horse Show in Fairfield, CT, just besting her Lionshare Farms teammate, Peter Leone. Leone had two blue ribbons in the division on Cosmopolitan, owned by Paraizo Equestrian and aboard My Pleasure, a Belgian Warmblood gelding. With Cosmopolitan, Leone also earned a third place prize in the division.

Elizabeth Pandich and Candide, owned by Haphco, LLC, triumphed in the 1.25m Jumper Division this week at the Fairfield County Hunt Horse Show in Fairfield, CT, just besting her Lionshare Farms teammate, Peter Leone. “Candide is a 12-year old stallion that Peter has been kind enough to let me ride and show,” said Pandich who trains alongside Leone and Michael Henaghan at Lionshare Farm in Greenwich, CT. “He requires a specific ride-he’s a very different type of horse than I’m used to riding. He’s fast, careful and always game. He really tries very hard.”
 
The entire Lionshare Farm Team received nods from the judges in the ponies, jumpers, equitation and hunter divisions at the show, as validation of the hard work and commitment of the Lionshare Farm team and clientele.
 
Leone was champion of the 1.10m Jumpers with Alison Finger’s big, graygelding, Tuvalu. He also garnered a red ribbon with My Pleasure in the division.
 
Isabella Russekoff demonstrated her polished style aboard Rose Hill Farms Hallelujah to win the Connecticut Hunter Jumper Association Pony Medal. Russekoff also earned a respectable ribbon in the Washington International Horse Show Pony Medal with Rico Suave. Paired with Time to Talk, owned by Katherine Ann Brewer, Russekoff earned good prizes in the Large Children’s Hunter Pony Division.
 
Parker Wright had the ride on Lionshare Farm’s Anisette. The team swept the Green Pony Hunter Division for the championship Wright proved a perfect match for Anisette and also led the pony to two blue ribbons in the Medium Pony Hunter Division.
 
Matti Fisher and her long-time partner Peter Pan, who she describes as comfortable as a good pair of sneakers, won the Connecticut Hunter Jumper Association Adult Medal. The pair recently won the USEF Adult Equitation 3’3″ at Old Salem.
 
Kiva Iscol and Julius were second in the New England Hunter Championship Adult Medal and also earned good  prizes in the Ariat Adult Medal and the Marshall and Sterling Adult Medal. In the 3’3″ Amateur Hunter Division, Iscol and Julius also received the approval of the judges, who pinned the pair respectably.
 
The Lionshare Farm team proved successful in the Adult Hunters, with Caroline Grubb and her Alghero garnering good prizes out a large field of entries. Claudia Wolloch on her own Hudson Point took the red ribbon in the Modified Adult Hunter Stake.
 
Next stop on the Lionshare Farm show schedule is the I Love New York Show at beautiful Lake Placid, NY.
 
Peter Leone is an Olympic equestrian, trainer, producer of hunter/jumper instructional DVDs and author.
