Lauren Sammis Sets Sights On Rio Olympic Games

Pan American Gold Medalist Lauren Sammis has announced her four year plan to build a new stable of Grand Prix horses and launch a bid to make the U.S. Team for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janiero. The 2007 Pan Am team gold and individual silver medalist, who achieved international success with Sagacious SF, has a new mount in the nine year old Danish Warmblood gelding Lombard V, owned by Hope Greenfield.  Sammis took over the ride on Lombard V (aka Cinco) from his owner earlier this year and will be campaigning him at Prix St Georges level in Florida this winter.

Sammis is currently seeking to build her team so that she has two Grand Prix horses that could campaign for a berth on the next Olympic squad.  The team would consist of three or four quality horses that show the potential for international competition. This is a unique opportunity for either private owners or a breeding farm to join Sammis' international dressage program.

"I am open to the appropriate circumstances that would lead to new owners becoming involved in my world class program, which together with my family of sponsors creates a dynamic team.  We offer owners a chance to not only being a part of a vibrant dressage business but also to enjoy the sport at the top level and the journey it takes to reach Olympian heights," said Sammis.

"Having experienced what it's like to be on the team in the Small Tour it has always been my ambition to make it on to the Olympic team and my enthusiasm and dedication to this goal has never wavered," added Sammis. "I know what it takes to produce international Grand Prix horses and with an eye for the right horse I am confident that I can realize their potential. I would like to find owners who share the same passion, ambition and commitment to producing Grand Prix horses for international success."

Sammis operates a successful sales and training business in New Jersey and will be based in Wellington, Florida from December 2012 to April 2013.
