Lake Placid And I Love New York Horse Shows To Be Shown On HRTV

For the first time ever, show jumping fans across the country and around the world will be able to watch competition from the Lake Placid and I Love New York Horse Shows live as it happens. HRTV, The Network for Horse Sports, will offer free live webcasts of all classes in the horse shows’ Grand Prix Field.

The 2013 Lake Placid Horse Shows, Presented by Sea Shore Stables, LLC, feature the 44th annual Lake Placid Horse Show, June 25-30, and the 36th annual I Love New York Horse Show, July 2-7. The horse shows host all levels of competition ranging from young children on ponies to grand prix competitors and Olympic medalists, all competing for over $535,000 in prize money. The horse shows begin at 8:00 am daily and HRTV coverage will be available Wednesday through Sunday each week.

“We are thrilled that horse show fans around the world will be able to see competition from Lake Placid on HRTV,” said Richard M. Feldman, Lake Placid Horse Show Association Chairman. “We have many riders who have been coming to Lake Placid for decades and this is a great opportunity for people who’ve never made it to Lake Placid not only to enjoy our world-class competition, but also to see what makes our horse shows unlike any other.”

Highlighting the competition to be shown on HRTV are the $75,000 Equine Insurance Services/Great American Grand Prix of Lake Placid on Sunday, June 30 at 2:00 pm EDT and the $100,000 Woodlea Farms Grand Prix on Saturday, July 6 at 3:00 pm EDT. These classes are the pinnacle of show jumping competition and are guaranteed to be action packed events with even bigger prize money this year as the horse shows are offering a $100,000 Grand Prix for the first time ever!

Another highlighted competition is the $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby presented by Eastern Hay & Grain and Purina Animal Nutrition on Sunday, July 7 at 11:00 am EDT. This event, also held in the all-grass Richard M. Feldman Grand Prix Field, features jumps that resemble natural obstacles seen in the hunt field with a variety of challenges including walls, hedges, logs and ditches.

“Lake Placid has a long and cherished tradition as one of America’s most revered horse shows,” said Dotty Ewing of HRTV. “The large Grand Prix Field with natural terrain sets the Lake Placid Horse Shows apart and, along with the impressive line-up of Olympic veterans and other top riders, guarantees exciting competition that we know our viewers will enjoy.”

The live webcasts will be produced by ShowNet and will be available free of charge directly at www.hrtv.com and also through a click through available at the horse shows’ website at www.lakeplacidhorseshow.com.
