West Palm Beach, FL (March 18, 2010) – Kelly O’Shea Duncan and her Hackney Horse, Baryshnikov, won the Intermediaire I Freestyle class at the Wellington Classic Dressage Challenge II, proving that Hackney Horses can excel in the dressage world. Sponsored by Classic Equine Equipment, a nationally recognized leader in quality horse stall systems and stable accessories, O’Shea Duncan won a polar fleece vest from Classic Equine.
O’Shea bought Baryshnikov four-and-a-half years ago out of a field, and the Hackney Horse was untrained and unbroken. Elizabeth Goth bred Baryshnikov in hopes that he would become part of her four-in-hand driving team, but his markings didn’t match the rest of the team.
Baryshnikov’s incorrect markings turned out to be a blessing in disguise for O’Shea Duncan. “He has always been in the national rankings in the open division in the USDF and the USEF,” O’Shea Duncan said. “He’s doing the high performance and I’m hoping to go to Gladstone with him."
Adam Busse, owner of Classic Equine Equipment, was thrilled with O’Shea Duncan and Baryshnikov’s classic “diamond in the rough” tale. “Kelly has a wonderful story about finding Baryshnikov and training him. I want to congratulate them on their win in the class we sponsored, as well as all of their success throughout the years.”
Classic Equine Equipment, which has a vendor booth at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center throughout the winter show circuit, has earned a reputation as the leading producer of beautiful, innovative and high-quality stalls. The company designs, develops and manufactures stall systems and stable accessories that are not only safety oriented for the horse, but easy to install as well.

And, our line continues to expand through innovation and strategic alliances.”
