Stats: age 27, Uxbridge, Ontario.
Exponential: b. g., 16 hands, 13 years, Canadian-bred Thoroughbred, owned by rider.
In 2009, this pair was fifth at the Jersey Fresh CCI*** (N.J.) and completed the Blenheim CCI*** (England). Last year, they were third at the Bromont CCI*** (Que.) and represented Canada at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, though they had to withdraw before show jumping. This spring, the pair won a division of open intermediate at Pine Top Spring (Ga.) and was second in a division of advanced at Poplar Place March (Ga.).
Jimmy’s Prediction: Jessica and Exponential turned in a sparkling round at the World Equestrian Games here last fall. While I expect them to finish on their dressage score, their dressage score will place them just outside the top 10. With two wonderful horses to ride here, Jessica is certain to be the best placed of the Canadian riders.
Exploring: b. g., 16 hands, 14 years, U.S.-bred Thoroughbred (Discover—Sis-tene, Leonardo da Vinci), owned by rider.
After placing third in the Jersey Fresh CCI*** (N.J.) in 2008, this pair completed the Blenheim CCI*** (England) in 2009. Last year, they were 11th at the Bromont CCI*** (Que.) and 17th in the CIC*** at Richland Park (Mich.). This spring, they won a division of advanced at Red Hills (Fla.).
Jimmy’s Prediction: This pair has had an excellent preparation and will finish on their dressage score. Just as with Exploring’s stable mate Exponential, their dressage score will keep them from placing in the top 10. Every time I see Jessica, she is riding better, and I have high hopes for their future performances.
