Haddad And Cadillac Capture Another Win In Vidauban

Catherine Haddad, a Germany-based U.S. rider, won the Grand Prix Special at the Vidauban CDI*** (France) on Friday, June 19, with a score of 70.62 percent.  She and partner Cadillac 35, a 12-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding, also placed second in the Grand Prix on Thursday behind Belgium’s Stefan van Ingelgem on Withney van 't Genthof (67,95%).

This is the pair’s sixth Grand Prix win in 2009.

Despite a solid showing at the Exquis World Dressage Masters in Cannes, France, just a few weeks earlier, Haddad said the outing at Vidauban was a marked improvement in the duo’s dynamic.

“Cadillac was much more relaxed at this horse show than he was in Cannes,” she said. “He really enjoyed himself tonight.”

The judges rewarded Haddad and Cadillac for crisp transitions, beautifully executed pirouettes and fluid passages.

This is the first year that Vidauban, held at the Domaine Equestre des Grands Pins, has offered international-level dressage in its program.
