Good-Horskeeping.com is expanding its product review services by offering testing and focus group studies for manufactures with equine products that are in the developmental stages.
For over a year the website has been reviewing equine products that are already in production and offering the Good-Horsekeeping approval for products that are successfully reviewed. Offering testing and focus group studies for products in the developmental stage is the next step in offering equine product manufacturers credible input.
“As a horse owner and equine professional I have come across many products that really could be improved by manufacturers in quality, safety, and use,” says Laurie Cerny, publisher of www.good-horsekeeping.com.
“Recently I returned two of these products, which I had purchased for my own personal use with my show mare. Both were inferior and when I contacted the mail order company I made the purchases from they told me one of the products were put on hold in regards to re-order – likely because of customer complaints,” Cerny added. “I can only imagine the amount of money that will be lost by these manufacturers with the return of their products; having the input of experienced horse industry professionals might have prevented this.”
Product testing will be conducted by Good Horsekeeping and will include a written report of findings, suggestions for product improvement, as well as a critique of packaging and instructions. The cost is $75 per product.
Focus group studies will be available for manufacturers that desire a cross-section of input into their product development. Three-member focus groups consisting of equine professionals with at least 10 years of horse industry experience will be assigned to a product. The group will provide written reports of the product, and suggestions and recommendations. A follow-up study of the product will be made by the focus group following changes and improvements. The cost for focus group study is $200 per product.
Good-Horsekeeping Product Reviews of equine products are always available of existing equine products and are done at no cost.
