The Federation Equestre Internationale Bureau met Nov. 4 in Montreux, Switzerland. The venues for the 2014, 2015 and 2016 FEI Championships and Finals were allocated as follows.

The bid for the FEI European Championship for Ponies (jumping, dressage and eventing) was re-opened.
After the Swedish Board of Agriculture granted an exemption to run all major FEI events until the end of 2017 in accordance with the FEI Veterinary
Regulations, which differ from the national regulations in Sweden, the FEI Bureau
formally allocated the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Final and FEI World Cup Dressage Final to Gothenburg, March 23-28.
The FEI Bureau noted this breakthrough exemption with satisfaction, especially in view of the fact that the Swedish authorities acknowledged the FEI’s high welfare standards, approach and supporting systems in place.
The FEI Bureau also confirmed the following appointments to the FEI Technical Committees.
FEI Veterinary Committee: Siraya Chunekamrai (Thailand) and William Dwight Hooten (United States) were appointed to replace outgoing members Yves Rossier (Canada) and Ray Randall (United States) for a term of four years (2013-2017).
FEI Medical Committee: Allen Sills (United States) was re-appointed for a second term in office from 2013 to 2017.
FEI Show Jumping Committee: Kamal Bahamdan (Saudi Arabia) was appointed to replace outgoing member Vladimir Platov (Russia) for a term of four years (2013-2017).
FEI Dressage Committee: Maribel Alonso de Quinzaños (Mexico) was appointed to replace outgoing member Anne Gribbons (United States) for a term of four years (2013-2017).
FEI Eventing Committee: Marcin Konarski (POL) was appointed as the event organizers’ representative to replace outgoing member Robert Kellerhouse (United States) for a term of four years (2013-2017).
FEI Driving Committee: Klaus Christ (Germany) was re-appointed for a second term in office from 2013 to 2017.
FEI Reining Committee: Pete Kyle (United States) and Ben Harlov (Isreal) were appointed to replace outgoing members Johannes Orgeldinger (Germany) and Bill Brewer (United States) for a term of four years (2013-2017).
FEI Para Equestrian Committee: Sue Cunningham (Australia) was appointed to replace outgoing member Liliana Iannone (Argentina) for a term of four years (2013-2017).
FEI Jumping Committee Chair John Madden was re-appointed as member of the Executive Board for a term of one year until the 2014 FEI General Assembly.
The Bureau approved the rules for the FEI World Cup™ 2014/2015 season in dressage, show jumping and eventing. The series for dressage, which was launched this year, will continue on a trial basis for a second year. The Bureau approved the draft cooperation agreement the FEI intends to sign with the National Reining Horse Association and American Quarter Horse Association.
Election Procedures For Technical Committees Approved
The Bureau approved the concept and timeline for the online election procedure for athlete representatives on the FEI Technical Committee. According to the current FEI International Regulations, in order to be eligible to vote, the athletes must be at least 18 years old at the time of the vote and must be registered with the FEI in the relevant discipline. An additional requirement stating that in order to be eligible to vote, the athletes must be included on the respective FEI Ranking List will be considered by the FEI General Assembly on Thursday, Nov. 7.
FEI Sports Forum
The 2014 FEI Sports Forum will take place April 28-29 at IMD business school in Lausanne, Switzerland. Event classification system for show jumping, FEI footing project, sustainability program, FEI online entry system, endurance strategic plan, progress report on 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games and a vaulting round table will be on the Forum’s agenda.
