The Fashionistas Of The Adequan Global Dressage Festival

Apr 3, 2016 - 12:58 PM

There’s something to be said about bringing a little personality to your wardrobe. Since our sport is so strongly rooted in tradition it’s not always easy to break away from the norm.

But during week 12 of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival, many of the riders had no qualms in bringing something new to the table.

Maria Florencia Manfredi and Bandurria Kacero in the CDIO*** Grand Prix.

Manfredi’s shadbelly featured bold purple accents on the collar and her tall boots had some subtle bling.

The back of her shadbelly featured flattering white piping.

Lars Petersen and Mariett in the CDI*** Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special.

The Danish rider also spiced up his shadbelly with white piping.

Mabragana, Micaela

Micaela Mabragana and Tyara in the CDI*** Grand Prix.

Mabragana’s blue shadbelly worked perfectly with Tyara’s coat.

Mikala Gundersen and My Lady in the CDIO*** Grand Prix.

My Lady’s bonnet featured the Danish flag and red accents, which perfectly matched the points on Gundersen’s shadbelly. The mare’s swooped browband fit perfectly with her bonnet.

Shelley Francis and Danillo in the CDI*** Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle.

Both of Francis’ mounts sported red, white and blue gems in their browbands which coordinated perfectly with the accents on her shadbelly.

Arlene “Tuny” Page in the CDIO*** Grand Prix and CDI*** Grand Prix.

Page’s hairnet featured pearls for a subtle, classy look.

Susan Dutta and Currency DC in the CDI*** Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special.

Dutta held nothing back with her colorful shadbelly.

Kelly Layne and Von Primaire in the CDIO*** Grand Prix.

It was hard to tell what was shinier, Layne’s shadbelly or Von Primaire’s coat.

Juan Antonio Jimenez Cobo and Sunny Boy in the CDI*** Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special.

While many rider’s had their nation’s flag embroidered on their bonnets, Sunny Boy’s bonnet featured the Spanish flag made out of gems.
