Equine Canada Announces Nominations For London Olympic And Paralympic Games

Equine Canada has announced the horse-and-rider combinations that will be nominated to the Canadian Olympic Committee for review and named to the 2012 Canadian Olympic Team.

The COC will officially name the Canadian Olympic teams for dressage, eventing and jumping on July 5.

The rider/horse combinations to be nominated are as follows (listed in alphabetical order):

 

Dressage

Jacqueline Brooks of Ceday Valley, Ontario, riding Brookhaven Dressage Inc.’s D Niro

Ashley Holzer of Toronto, riding her own and P.J. Rivzi’s Breaking Dawn

Davis Marcus of Campbellville, Ontario, riding Deborah Miculinic’s Chrevi’s Capital.

 

Holzer also has a reserve horse, Rusty Holzer and Maureen Nicoll’s Pop Art.

If for any reason one of the selected horse/rider combinations is unable to compete in the Olympic Games, the following alternates may be named as a substitute:

Diane Creech of Caistor Centre, Ontario, riding Douglas and Louise Leatherdale’s Devon L

Pia Fortmuller of DeWinton, Alberta, riding her own and Dagmar Fortmuller’s Orion.
