Custom Saddlery: In the Tempel of the Lipizzans

Wellington, FL (September 4, 2013) – Custom Saddlery is proud to announce that they are now the offical saddlery of the famed Tempel Lipizzans.  “We have four trainers that have been very happy with the fit of Custom Saddles to riders and horses. Our horses are short coupled and can be hard to fit correctly.  Custom Saddlery’s expert fit and exceptional customer service set them apart and we are proud to have them as the official saddle of the Tempel Lipizzans,” said Esther Buonanno with Tempel Lipizzans of Mill Creek, IL.

For half a century, Tempel's glorious white horses have preserved on American soil many of the rare bloodlines that faced near-extinction in World War II, as well as the haute ecole arts of classical dressage made famous by Europe's Saumur and Spanish Riding Academy. Tempel Lipizzans have appeared in five Presidential Inaugurations, including being one of seven Illinois organizations participating in President-elect Obama's Inaugural Parade.

“In addition to our horses having unique conformations, our trainers range from 5'3” to 6' tall.  All of them ride in Custom’s Coronado, and find that it has a deep seat but with a more comfortable twist and fits everyone,” said Buonanno

Custom Saddlery has a revolutionary polyflex tree that offers the ultimate in flexibility for the horse plus unmatched comfort and stability.  The single flap design of the Coronado and Custom’s other monoflap models eliminate unnecessary weight and bulk and deliver added 'feel' for the rider's leg and enhanced communication through the seat.  A contoured, molded flap design cradles the leg in perfect riding position without restriction.

Custom Saddlery’s list of sponsored riders includes Olympic greats like Steffen Peters and many other world class dressage and eventing riders.  “We are especially excited to be involved with Tempel,” said Custom Saddlery’s Cary Wallace.  “They have an unmatched history and because the Lipizzan is more of a baroque breed than an warmblood, they present different fitting challenges that many saddles may not be able to adjust for.  Our saddles help keep these equine athletes comfortable and performing at their peak, which is key in turning riding into art.”
