Chester Springs, PA – May 4, 2010 – On Sunday, May 2, 2010, Virginia and Collin McNeil hosted a party to celebrate the Grand Opening of Callan Solem Show Stables. Successful grand prix rider Callan Solem joined the McNeils at the beginning of April to launch the brand new hunter/jumper/equitation operation. The wonderful event was held at the picturesque Upland Farm in Chester Springs, PA, and included over 300 guests.
The party began at 5:30 p.m., and featured notable guests such as Leonard King, Michael Tillson, Cortright Weatherill, Susie Buchanan Donald Rosato, Maarten Huygens, Denise O’Connor, Robert Turner, Paul Grana, and Susie Beale.
There was an eclectic group of equestrians that joined Solem and the McNeils to celebrate the Grand Opening and enjoy delicious food by Landis Catering. The theme of the party was blue, red, and yellow, which are the Callan Solem Show Stables colors, and each table setting included a beautiful tricolor ribbon.
The event began with a lovely cocktail party, before Collin McNeil called the group together for a speech. He explained the new venture and discussed Solem’s long list of accomplishments, as well as her goals for the future. McNeil concluded by saying, “We are lucky to have an equestrian who is so accomplished and so personable move her operation to Chester County.”
“I had a really great time,” noted Solem. “It was very special to have so many people that I care about together at one place celebrating with me. My parents and many people that have supported me during my career were there, and the accomplishments that Collin recited are as much theirs as they are mine.”
During the party the McNeils’ daughter Lee Lee hosted a fun horseless horse show. Participants had the opportunity to win ribbons and explore the beautiful Upland Farm. The facility features a Bart Poels outdoor arena, a grass jumping field, two barns, an equine treadmill, extensive riding trails, and a brand new barn and indoor arena are currently under construction.
Callan Solem Show Stables will be traveling to the Garden State Horse Show this week in the hopes of continuing her successful year.
